Both Sync Appliance and the sync clients use delta sync to optimize sync speed, decreasing both transfer and CPU load. Source deduplication is performed at two levels:
File-level deduplication ensures that files whose contents are already available by the receiving node (either the Sync Appliance or a sync client) are not transferred again.
Large files are split into chunks which are transferred in parallel. When a file is modified, only the changed parts — as opposed to the whole file — are sent.
